First event of its kind at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will include stock-car, autocross
and karting competition
Las Vegas, NV. November 2, 2009 - Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) has announced
it will hold its next 'King's Cup' competition at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on December
3rd, 2009, during NASCAR Champions Week. 'The King' himself, Richard Petty, will
be attending the day's events and will personally award the King's Cup trophy to
the day's overall winner.
This head-to-head challenge is open to eligible fans ages 18 and older and will

RPDE held the inaugural King's Cup at Walt Disney World® Speedway (WDWS) in August,

to bring the unique offering to Las Vegas during NASCAR Champions Week. "While there
is certainly no lack of things for residents or visitors to do in Vegas, we thought
some of the NASCAR enthusiasts among them might be up for a little competition,"
Bartelli said. "And there is no better way for a fan to get his racing fix that
week than to compete in the Las Vegas King's Cup."
The competition, itself, will combine RPDE's Rookie Experience where participants
drive solo in a 600 horsepower stock car for eight high-speed laps around the 1.5
- mile track, a street car challenge on an autocross course and head-to-head racing
against fellow participants in high performance karts - all for the chance to win
the prized trophy. 7-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty will personally present
the King's Cup to the overall winner at the closing ceremony. In addition to the
races, the day's events will include a high speed ride-along with an RPDE driving
instructor for three exhilarating laps, as well as lunch on-site at the track.
The King's Cup challenge will take place on Thursday, December 3rd at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway. Entry cost is $899 for the general public and $599 for RPDE's Experience
Rewards members. Nevada residents will receive 20% off the $899 registration fee
by mentioning promo code NV20. Complete registration details can be found here or

RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND NASCAR EXTEND PARTNERSHIP
Iconic Brands to Continue Relationship thru 2012
CONCORD, NC. September 22, 2009 – Few names are more intertwined than Petty and
NASCAR. Fewer, still, have been as connected in the public consciousness for more
than 50 years.
With the announcement that Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) and NASCAR have
extended the term of their licensing agreement thru 2012, these iconic brands will
continue to offer fans the opportunity to get inside of a Petty race car for the
very best in “Authentic NASCAR Entertainment.”
On the race track and off, Richard Petty – “The King” – has been the very embodiment
of the sport’s finest attributes. With 200 wins in NASCAR’s Cup series - a record
that will likely never be broken - seven Cup Championships and seven Daytona 500
victories, Petty has accomplished more than any other driver in NASCAR history.
He’s had many successful ventures out of the car as well; none more so than Richard
Petty Driving Experience (RPDE). Founded in 1994, RPDE pioneered the idea that the
average motorsports enthusiast, with proper instruction and provisions for safety,
should be able to get behind the wheel of a race car at some of the country’s premier
tracks and drive faster than he or she ever dreamed.
Today, RPDE operates upwards of 1,000 track days annually at more than 20 premier
speedways.
Petty, who is actively involved as an owner of the Driving Experience, both in the
boardroom and at the racetrack said; “We’re all about giving folks the chance to
feel a little bit of what I got from NASCAR racing for more than 30 years. And knowing
that NASCAR continues to be part of this deal with us, is very important to me.
”
“We’re delighted to extend our relationship with Richard Petty Driving Experience
as a memorable and realistic way to engage our fans,” NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian
France. “To continue our strong relationship with the legendary Richard Petty, who
remains an icon in our sport, is important to our fans and NASCAR.”

PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY PARTNERS WITH RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE
FOUNTAIN, Co, Sept. 23, 2009 – Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE), the world
leader in stock car riding and driving experiences, and Pikes Peak International
Raceway (PPIR) announced today a new venture that establishes a presence for RPDE
at PPIR, bringing to the Colorado Springs area a giant in motorsports entertainment
and fueling the recent reemergence of PPIR as a prime destination for corporate
events and motorsports enthusiasts.
Combining the experiential thrill factor of driving or riding 600-hp NASCAR-style
stock cars at the famed raceway creates a new and energizing lure for the area’s
annual six million business and leisure visitors that come from all over the world.
“Colorado is no stranger to us, and we know there is strong demand here and in the
surrounding states for our brand of authentic NASCAR entertainment,” Brian Flynn,
CEO, Richard Petty Driving Experience, said. “Partnering with PPIR provides us with
a world-class motorsports venue that will allow us to meet that public demand. PPIR’s
setting and facilities also give us the opportunity to expand our offerings year-round,
especially with creative turnkey corporate events,” he said.
Pikes Peak International Raceway CEO John H. Molloy said, “Bringing the Richard
Petty Driving Experience to PPIR is the next logical step for us, as we continue
to transform the raceway into more of a participatory venue for motorsports. Our
desire is to speed up the thrill factor at PPIR with new road courses and experiential
motorsports activities and entertainment like Richard Petty Enterprises offers,”
he said.
The inaugural NASCAR-style Driving and Ride-Along Experience runs November 17-21
at PPIR. Motorsports enthusiasts can reserve their spot at
www.1800bePetty.com or www.ppir.com.
Sessions are limited, so reservations will be on a first-come basis.
According to the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, high altitude
motorsports entertainment strengthens the lure of the area to both the corporate
and leisure visitor markets. “With Pikes Peak International Raceway, Colorado Springs
has a great reputation for motorsport events. Having a driving experience for visitors
provides one more reason to come to the Pikes Peak region,” said Terry Sullivan,
the CVB President and CEO. “Experiencing the excitement of behind-the-wheel race
car driving strengthens the attraction of Colorado Springs from surrounding states
and makes a visit here more memorable,” he said.

organization. And to further ensure the utmost quality and safety, our fleet of
cars rotate in a quality assurance program as well as daily inspections prior to
runs.”
Indeed, the attraction’s safety record is impeccable across the 20+ tracks at which
it operates nationwide, and that’s no small feat. Last year alone, RPDE offered

The schedule features nearly 900 dates throughout the year, across twenty-four of
the nation’s premier race tracks, including “The World Center of Racing” Daytona
International Speedway and legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“We’re really excited about everything we have planned for 2009”, said CEO Brian
Flynn. “We’ve got several program innovations rolling out this year that we’re confident
our customers will be really enthusiastic about, but it all starts with locking
down the dates.”
In 2008, RPDE hosted over 100,000 participants in its stock car driving and riding
programs.
Complete schedule and availability can be found at www.1800bepetty.com.
Separately, Flynn addressed questions regarding last week’s announcement that Gillett
Evernham Motorsports and Petty Holdings would be forming a new race team and whether
this would have any impact on RPDE:
“All of us at RPDE know, as well as anyone, how badly ‘The King’ wants to get back

PETTY HOLDINGS & GILLETT EVERNHAM MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE TO
FORM NEW TEAM
Richard Petty Driving Experience to remain independent entity
CONCORD, NC, January 9, 2009 – Gillett Evernham Motorsports (GEM) and Petty Holdings
announced today an agreement in principle to form a new NASCAR Sprint Cup team co-owned
by Richard Petty, Petty Holdings, owned by majority shareholder Boston Ventures,
and Gillett Evernham Motorsports.
The team will field four Dodge entries in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. Details
of the transaction are expected once the deal is closed. Petty and GEM officials
anticipate a final agreement by the end of January.
Petty, a seven-time champion and owner of 200 Cup victories, said the new team secures
the famed No. 43’s presence in NASCAR for years to come.
“I want to get back to winning and together we will bring the resources, technology
and infrastructure to do that,” said Petty.
“This was a big decision for us but it’s something we really wanted to do. We hope
everyone in the sport embraces what (GEM Co-owner) George (Gillett) and I are doing.
Nothing is going to change for me. I’m going to be at the track every weekend and
really involved with the teams and drivers back at the shop. We are very happy.
George and I have a lot of work to do, but we have a plan and we’ll be ready for
Daytona.”
Petty Enterprises is the winningest team in NASCAR history owning 268 Cup victories
since 1949. Gillett said it is a privilege to help write a new chapter in the Petty
family history.
“To join with Richard Petty and Petty Holdings is such an honor for me and my family,”
said Gillett whose business interests also include ownership in the legendary Montreal
Canadiens in the NHL and the English Premier League’s Liverpool FC soccer team.
“Richard and I have gotten to know each other well over the last few years and both
of us believe we have formed something that NASCAR fans will support. We plan to
keep the Petty name in the forefront of NASCAR. We ask that all of the King’s fans
join with us. Our goal is to get the cowboy hat and sunglasses back in victory lane.”
GEM has its own role in the history of NASCAR.
Ray Evernham, named by the media as the sport’s greatest crew chief of all time
in 2006, created Evernham Motorsports in 1999 spearheading Dodge’s return to NASCAR.
In 2007, Evernham partnered with Gillett to form GEM. The organization owns 15 victories
and has consistently been one of the top performing teams in NASCAR.
“A lot has changed over the years in NASCAR but success still boils down to that
cat holding the steering wheel and how he conducts himself both in and out of the
car,” said Petty. “I really want to help these guys with their driving and their
careers.”
Notes:
• The new team plans to run a fourth Dodge in eight races in the 2009 season including
the Budweiser Shootout with additional races contingent on sponsorship.
• Ray Evernham retains a minority ownership role with the new team.
• Richard Petty and Petty Holdings will continue to own and operate the Richard
Petty Driving Experience as an independent entity.
• Key Petty employees Robbie Loomis, Dale Inman and Brian Moffitt will also have
active roles with the new team.
• The new team will use the GEM race shops in Statesville, N.C. and engine shop
in Concord, N.C.
• GEM and Petty sponsors will continue with the new organization.

THE 2008 MEINEKE CAR CARE BOWL TEAMS TAKE HIGH-SPEED RIDE-ALONGS WITH RICHARD PETTY
DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Who: UNC Tarheels and West Virginia Mountaineers
What: Rides at LMS with RPDE in prep for game on Saturday
When: Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Where: Lowe's Motor Speedway
CONCORD, NC, December 23, 2008 – Team members from the University of North Carolina
(UNC) and West Virginia (WVU) were treated to some high-speed thrills at Lowe’s
Motor Speedway courtesy of Richard Petty Driving Experience. The two teams are in
Charlotte, NC for the Meineke Car Care Bowl and took time out from practice for
some hot laps at the track.
"When we were coming down to Charlotte, we saw 'NASCAR Ride-Along' (on the itinerary)
and we were thinking, 'Oh whatever,” said senior WVU offensive tackle Ryan Stanchek.
"I think it was a big hit with everybody. It really was a pretty neat experience."
Stanchek says riding shotgun on the track is an experience he will never forget.
I think he said he went up to 170 or 180, to imagine them going 20 to 30 miles an
hour faster is unbelievable."
UNC senior linebacker Mark Paschal agreed. “This is a really cool deal for us to
have an opportunity to make laps around this huge place. NASCAR is really big around
here but I am not sure all the guys realize what the deal is really like.” Paschal,
who went to high school in the Charlotte area should know. “After doing this today,
I think my team has a whole new appreciation for what the guys in NASCAR do every
week.”
Former NASCAR driver and current ESPN analyst Dale Jarrett was on hand to offer
insight and encouragement. “This is something the kids will probably never forget
and it’s really cool for the guys to ride around here at top speed and have some
fun,” said Jarrett, who admittedly is a big Tarheel fan. “Deals like this will get
more people exposed to our sport and help the fan base grow for sure.”
The two head coaches went head-to-head in a tire changing challenge that took place
in Victory Lane and UNC’s Butch Davis just edged out Bill Stewart from WVU – the
clock read Davis 17.12, Stewart 17.24.
This marks the 6th straight year that RPDE has hosted the teams at the speedway.

PGA TOUR PLAYERS TRY LONG DRIVE AT RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Ryder Cup Team Member Boo Weekley and Woody Austin Make Laps at WDW Speedway in
Orlando
LAKE BUENA VISITA, FL, November 4, 2008 - A couple of PGA Tour players traded in
their 'driver' for a drive of their own at the Walt Disney World Speedway this week
while in Orlando for the Children's Miracle Network Classic tournament being held
at the Palm and Magnolia courses at Walt Disney World. Boo Weekley and Woody Austin,
two of the biggest race fans on the golf circuit, took turns behind the wheel of
authentic NASCAR-style stock cars at the 1-mile tri-oval Walt Disney World® Speedway.
'I know I could be home this week just relaxing and skip the golf but my wife and
father-in-law wanted to drive here this week', says Boo Weekley, who served as Honorary
Starter for the Sprint Cup race at Talladega last month. 'I got to do the Richard
Petty Driving Experience in Charlotte back in May and just loved it so they wanted
to get in on the action as well - and my son loves Disney so it's going to be a
great week here. I really like NASCAR as you know and so does my family so this
is the coolest thing to get a chance to drive these cars like this and play some
golf.'
While this marks just the second time Weekley has been to Richard Petty Driving
Experience, this adventure marks the 5th time Austin has been behind the wheel with
RPDE. 'I try to take advantage to drive on any Tuesday we have a tournament and
RPDE is near by. I had a chance to drive in Vegas just two weeks ago and that just
scratched the itch so I had to get some more this week here at Disney,' remarked
Austin in between driving sessions. 'This track is a thrill to drive because you
are always on the wheel and turning the car and is quite different than the Vegas
speedway so it's kind of cool to experience both within a few weeks.'
Richard Petty Driving Experience offers its unique experiences at more than 20 tracks
nationwide including Atlanta, Bristol, Charlotte, Chicago, Daytona, Indianapolis,
Las Vegas, Talladega and year-round at the Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando.

BOSTON VENTURES TEAMS WITH PETTY ENTERPRISES
Significant Investment By Leading Private Equity Firm To Support Growth Of Auto
Racingís Most Recognized Brand; Experienced Executive David Zucker Named CEO
BOSTON, & CHARLOTTE, NC, June 11, 2008 Boston Ventures, a leading middle market
private equity firm that invests in the entertainment, media, information and publishing,
and communications sectors, announced today it has made a significant investment
in Petty Enterprises and the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Together, Richard
Petty and Boston Ventures are partnering to continue the growth of the most successful
and recognized name in NASCAR racing history.
The iconic Richard Petty name is the most recognized brand in the automotive racing
world and this marks the first time since Lee Petty formed the organization in 1948
that an outside firm has invested in the legendary race team. Petty Enterprises
operates two outstanding properties: The Richard Petty Driving Experience, a unique
program that offers fans the opportunity to get behind the wheel or to ride-along
with a professional in a NASCAR style stock car at speeds up to 165 MPH; and two
NASCAR race teams – the legendary #43 race car driven by former NASCAR champion
Bobby Labonte, and the #45 race team that features driver Kyle Petty, grandson of
company founder Lee Petty and the son of Richard Petty.
Boston Ventures will provide growth capital and management support to enhance all
aspects of the company, including investing in the necessary resources and initiatives
to improve the performance of the race team and to grow the Driving Experience in
its core and ancillary businesses.
Richard Petty, a seven-time NASCAR champion known in the NASCAR world as “The King”
and who has received the Medal of Freedom, will become Chairman Emeritus at the
completion of the transaction. Commenting on the new partnership with Boston Ventures,
he said, “My family has been involved in racing for nearly 60 years and we want
future generations of racing fans to enjoy the sport as much as we do. One way I
can help do that is to make sure our organization continues to be successful. With
the help of my new team at Boston Ventures, we will build on four generations of
family tradition and get back to Victory Lane on the racetrack.”
To lead the development and implementation of the company’s strategic growth plan,
David F. Zucker has joined as CEO. Mr. Zucker has extensive experience with sports
related entities and is a passionate NASCAR fan who helped develop motorsports strategy
as Executive Vice President at ESPN. He is a seasoned executive who has served as
CEO of public and private companies, most recently as President and CEO of Midway
Games, Inc. Prior to that he was President and CEO of Playboy Enterprises. He also
served for over a decade in senior executive capacities with The Walt Disney Company,
including ESPN International which he led as Managing Director, and ESPN where he
oversaw programming.
Barry Baker, a Boston Ventures Managing Director, will become Chairman of the company
upon completion of the transaction which is expected to occur in the second quarter
of 2008. He brings more than 30 years of industry and operating experience to the
firm. Prior to joining Boston Ventures, Mr. Baker was President and Chief Operating
Officer of USA Networks, Inc. “Richard Petty helped establish the modern NASCAR
circuit and is very devoted to his family, racing, and to his business. We understand
his desire to grow the franchise he and his family created so it can continue to
be successful for many years to come and we will work with our new partners to achieve
that goal.”
The Petty Enterprises transaction is another example of a long series of investments
by Boston Ventures designed to support the growth of highly-recognized, family owned
businesses. During its 25-year history, Boston Ventures has completed a number of
transactions that required the ability to strike a delicate balance to transfer
ownership of a family controlled entity and successfully position it for greater
success. Over the years, Boston Ventures has helped transition such well-known brand
name companies as Motown Record Company, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Billboard
Magazine Group, National Enquirer, and Panavision to achieve superior levels of
growth.
Andrew C. Davis, Managing Director of Boston Ventures, who will also serve on the
Petty Enterprises Board of Directors, said, “This investment is consistent with
Boston Ventures’ strategy of investing in highly recognizable media and entertainment
franchises and partnering with families who are looking to transition their company
to the next level. We look forward to working with the entire Petty team to help
bring the #43 and #45 cars back to Victory Lane where they belong and to invest
in and grow the Richard Petty Driving Experience which has tremendous potential.”
Mr. Zucker, said, “As a devoted NASCAR fan, an opportunity to help build a name
brand organization like Petty Enterprises comes along only once in a great while.
I am pleased to be entrusted with this outstanding company with such a rich history
and I look forward to working with everyone to lead us to greater prosperity.”

PGA TOUR PLAYERS TRADE IN DRIVER FOR A DRIVE
Pros Make Laps with Richard Petty Driving Experience
Concord, NC, April 29, 2008 – Four of the world’s best golfers took time out of
their weekly routine and traded in their drivers for a chance to drive race cars
today at Lowe’s Motor Speedway as guests of the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
PGA TOUR players Stuart Appleby, Woody Austin, Boo Weekley and Rory Sabbatini all
took turns behind the wheel today in 600hp NASCAR style stock cars, making 18 laps
around the 1.5- mile superspeedway.
"Getting to do this gives me a whole new appreciation for what those NASCAR boys
do every week,” said Boo Weekley, who got to drive a replica Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
car, quite a coincidence since Earnhardt is his favorite driver. “I can tell you
I will never watch a race the same way. This Petty deal is just an incredible experience
and I am so glad I did it.”
Although golf is not one his strong suits, Richard Petty has enormous respect for
what the PGA Tour Players grind through every week as well. “These guys have to
be so focused every week and the mental strain must be tremendous,” said the seven-time
NASCAR Champion. “Although a mistake in NASCAR could mean real disaster with injuries
and torn up race cars and a mistake for them just costs them a few strokes and some
money, I really have an appreciation for the sport and how they battle the elements,
the course and each other every week.”
“The two sports are so different but yet so similar with regards to hand eye coordination
and the focus it takes to be successful,” says Woody Austin. “But as a NASCAR fan,
I just can’t get enough of this speed thing and this is such a cool way for fans
to see what the hype is all about.” For Austin, this trip marked his 5th time with
Richard Petty Driving Experience and he is ready for more. “I really do have the
proverbial need for speed and could see myself out here every day if I could.”
“This was my 2nd trip back with the folks here at Richard Petty Driving Experience
and it was everything I remembered from the first time here,” said Stuart Appleby
recalling his 1st trip to Charlotte four years ago. “The cars, the track, the people
– it’s really such a big rush and I love it! I suppose I need to take it down a
notch before I go to the golf course but it won’t be easy.”

CMS TEAMS UP WITH RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Teachers take the wheel to study science and physics

Concord, N.C., April 17, 2008 – Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) and Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Schools will put teachers on the course at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Monday, April
21 from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Fifteen CMS science teachers will take part in a series
of exercises that include skid control, braking, crash avoidance and a tailgating
simulation.
The partnership, based on the theme “Physics of Safe Driving,” is designed to teach
students to be better drivers and encourage interest in the science and physics
of automobiles.
“Students will see how driving is tied to physics concepts like forces and motion,
friction and acceleration,” said Cindy Moss, director of Pre-K math and science
instruction for CMS. “We hope the lessons will also make students think when they
get behind the wheel.”
CMS will shoot video of the on-course lessons and teachers will gather data. The
teachers will use the video and data to develop a curriculum unit that will match
the North Carolina Standard Course of Study objectives for teaching high school
physics and middle school science.
“I just think taking this angle with the program and putting a focus on math and
science is really great,” said seven-time NASCAR Champion Richard Petty. “The teachers
should come away with a cool way to mix studies with safe driving and make it a
fun learning experience.”
Automobile accidents are the number one cause of death for Americans aged 16-25.
The research-based Richard Petty Safe Driving Program teaches safe driving skills
by taking participants through on-course experiences in a controlled environment.
RPDE developed the program in partnership with Clemson University’s Automotive Safety
Research Institute.

RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPERIENCE SIGNS LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH NASCAR
Concord, N.C. March 10, 2007 – The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing
(NASCAR) and Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) announced today that the two
organizations have agreed to a multi-year licensing agreement, formalizing a relationship
that began 15 years ago with the initial development of RPDE.
While Richard Petty and NASCAR remain synonymous, the agreement cements a relationship
that began more than 50 years ago when the Petty family first joined the sport.
This new licensing agreement will allow Richard Petty Driving Experience to better
align its business with NASCAR, its sponsors, business partners and 75 million fans.
“We formed the Driving Experience to let race fans see what professional drivers
see on the track every weekend and get a feel for what the guys go through every
week behind the wheel. At the same time we also do a good job of recreating the
sights and sounds that make NASCAR the most exciting sport in the world,” said Richard
Petty, the seven-time NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Champion. “By making our long relationship
with NASCAR official we hope to reach more race fans while also exposing the sport
to thousands of others in an attempt to help grow the sport for years to come.”
Each year over 130,000 race fans and enthusiasts feel the power of NASCAR through
RPDE when they drive or ride-along at their favorite race track. The relationship
between the two organizations will continue to give fans the opportunity to touch
and feel the sport in a way no other professional sports entity offers. Richard
Petty Driving Experience, through its licensing agreement with NASCAR, will become
a greater brand extension of the sport by continuing to provide authentic NASCAR
riding and driving experiences.
“There are two great must-do experiences in our sport,” said Mark Dyer, NASCAR’s
vice president of licensing and consumer products. “First, of course, is going to
a NASCAR race. Second is experiencing what it’s like to drive an authentic NASCAR
NEXTEL Cup race car. The Richard Petty Driving Experience makes this unforgettable
experience happen for thousands of people every year, and NASCAR is proud to be
associated with this first-class organization.”
