    Victory Junction Gang

Victory Junction Gang Camp, located in Randleman, North Carolina, opened its doors in 2004 to serve as a retreat for seriously ill children. It is the seventh in the network of The Hole In The Wall Gang Camps founded by Paul Newman, joining camps in Connecticut, Florida, New York, California, Ireland and France.

Kyle Petty first visited the Newman Camp in Florida in 1997 and returned with his wife Pattie on a charity motorcycle ride in 1998. Upon seeing the camp Pattie remarked. “We need to bring this kind of miracle to the children back home.” The vision crystallized following the death of Kyle and Pattie’s son, Adam, and when his brother Austin chose to spend a summer as a lifeguard/counselor at the Florida camp. The entire Petty family became regular visitors to the camp when visiting Austin and strengthened their commitment to build a camp in North Carolina.

The Center for Research on Chronic Illnesses at the School of Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill identified more than 235,000 children in the tri-state area of North & South Carolina and Virginia who could benefit from a medical camp. The camp serves children in these states with a full summer camping program as well as family retreat weekend throughout the year.

    Kyle Petty Charity Rides

Kyle Petty Charity Rides, Inc. was founded to support and manage the annual event of Kyle Petty’s cross-country motorcycle ride, now known as the Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. The organization has quickly grown and now offers several smaller rides throughout the year including the Ride to Victory III, a one day ride, and the Key Lime Ride III, a three day ride. All of the rides under the Kyle Petty Charity Ride, Inc. umbrella support the Victory Junction Gang Camp and other children’s charities.

Since its formation in 1995, the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America has become one of the most successful and popular charity events in NASCAR. The 2005 journey marks the eleventh year Kyle, his father Richard and wife Pattie will take to the open road with friends, family and supporters. The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America has raised more than $7 million for various children's hospitals and charities. The main beneficiary of the 2005 ride is the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Proceeds from The Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America will be used to fund the camp's Aquatic Center and to help with the annual operational costs of the facility.
