Richard Petty Driving Experience and Clemson University launched a national safe
driving partnership in March 2007 to help prevent or reduce highway crashes by high-risk
adolescent and young adult participants by improving driver skills, attitudes, knowledge
and behavior.
Clemson University’s Automotive Safety Research Institute
(CU-ASRI) takes a research base interdisciplinary approach to improving driver safety
through the critical human – vehicle – road interface. Clemson’s
experience in the areas of highway safety research and education, curriculum development,
course delivery and evaluation adds to the foundation of the program. Their goal
is to bring together nationally and internationally recognized researchers, educators,
government and corporate partners to improve the safety of the automotive transportation
environment.
Clemson provides experience in the areas of highway safety research and education,
curriculum development, course delivery and course evaluation. Richard Petty Driving
Experience leverages personnel, logistics, instructional base, vehicles and national
footprint.
